FIELD NOTEBOOK / VOL. 01

Ideas, sketches,
and iterations.

I’m Yohaan Kapur, a computer engineering student at Penn State. This is my notebook for what I’m learning, what I’m building, and everything in between.

03 / Margin notes

An engineer
in the making.

I’m studying computer engineering at Penn State, with roots in Dubai. My coursework brings together programming, digital logic, and the foundations of how computers work.

My interests sit at the intersection of embedded systems, accessibility engineering, and hardware–software integration. I’m looking for summer internship and industrial training opportunities in Dubai and the UAE.

DATED & DOCUMENTED

Entry 001: a place to begin

A first version of this site, and a starting point for what comes next.

Future entries will follow the work, one build at a time.

The next page is unwritten.

Open to summer internships and industrial training in Dubai / UAE.

Project 001 / Version 04

A home for the process.

A personal website that brings together an introduction, a project archive, and a journal. The first version starts small, with a structure that can grow as new work is added.

The design: warm eggshell paper, a fine blue grid, drafting lines, and notebook-style annotations. Built to work on both phones and larger screens.

The format: a personal portfolio and notebook, bringing projects, experience, and learning into one place.

What’s next: document the learning process, add project images and demonstrations, and record new work as it develops.

Entry 001: a place to begin

Today’s milestone is the first version of this personal site: an introduction, a place for projects, and this journal.

Future entries can document what was learned, what was tried, what didn’t work, and what changed.

For now, the goal is simple: establish a starting point and let the archive grow with the work.

Project notes / Accessible audio-based game

Accessible audio-based game

Designed and developed an audio-driven game enabling non-visual interaction for visually impaired users.

The project incorporated sound cues and Braille concepts, applying accessibility and inclusive design principles. Its focus was human-centred computing and assistive technology.

Project notes / Colourblind accessibility tool

Colourblind accessibility tool

An Amazon internship team project focused on UI accessibility for colourblind users.

Contributed to the design of the solution and evaluated interface adaptations to improve usability. The work involved collaborative design discussions within a structured internship environment.

Project notes / Automatic guitar tuner

Automatic guitar tuner

A hardware prototype combining electronic and mechanical design concepts.

Designed and modelled the enclosure using Onshape and Fusion 360, applying iterative prototyping and testing methods.
